This pretty, individually furnished apartment is located in one of the winding old town streets of Monterotondo Marittimo, in an ancient palazzo from the 17th century.
It extends over 2 floors and was recently renovated with great care and attention to detail. The antique terracotta floors, wooden ceilings and natural stone walls have been preserved and the successful mix of antique elements, restored antiques and contemporary design creates the unique atmosphere of this holiday home.
Various shops, a few restaurants and coffee bars as well as a small playground are within walking distance.
Monterotondo Marittimo is located in the middle of the hilly landscape of the Colline Metallifere, which are famous for the mineral deposits and their active geysers, which offer a unique natural spectacle with their smoke plumes from hot water vapor visible from afar.
The medieval village is surrounded by the Mediterranean bush forest, which is ideal for walks, hiking tours or mountain bike excursions. The Technological Geomuseo Mubia, part of the Biancane Natural Park (Unesco), is within easy walking distance of the apartment.
In addition, Monterotondo Marittimo is an ideal starting point for numerous interesting excursions such as the ancient mines, the thermal baths of Sasso Pisano or the geothermal museum in Larderello, to name just a few.
Other interesting destinations for day trips are: Massa Marittima (15 min. By car), the Abbey of San Galgano with the famous sword in the rock (40 min), Volterra (approx. 1 hour), San Gimignano (approx. 1, 30 hours), Siena, Florence etc.
The distance to the nearest beaches in Follonica and the Gulf of Baratti and the Etruscan coast are around 30 minutes by car.
