The two apartments are located on the 3rd floor of an apartment building on the edge of the ancient hamlet of Marzamemi in the Pachino municipality.
From the balconies you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the small town and the offshore island "Isola Piccola", on which the villa of the Brancati family is located. In 5 minutes walk you can reach the center of the small fishing port with a tuna fishing factory. This factory has been closed since the end of the war Company that was once one of the most important and oldest in Sicily.
Around the ancient halls, in which the long wooden boats used to be maintained, are the crouched fishing huts that make up the picturesque scenario of the small town. In the evening you can stroll through the dreamy alleys and across the "piazza", where two churches lie opposite each other. On the mild summer evenings, locals and holidaymakers mingle to eat ice cream or enjoy an aperitif in the bars.
In the numerous restaurants you can spoil yourself with regional cuisine. In the nearby nature reserve "Riserva Naturale di Vendicari" there are beautiful sandy beaches (one of it is Cala Mosche), a beautiful dune landscape and inland lakes. Here you can observe numerous animal species and especially water birds, such as the pink flamingos. A paradise for bird watchers and amateur photographers.
For shopping you go to the neighboring town of Pachino (approx. 4.5 km), which is famous throughout Italy for the tomato cultivation of the “pomodorino di pachino” variety. Here you will find supermarkets, banks, restaurants, a post office, numerous shops and much more.
Marzamemi is an excellent starting point to discover this versatile region. There are numerous interesting excursion destinations in the area like Portopalo di Capo Passero, Isola delle Correnti (approx. 8 km - this is the point where the Ionian Sea meets the Tyrrhenian Sea!), Noto (approx. 23 km), Modica ( approx. 52 km), Ragusa (approx. 62 km) and the provincial capital Siracusa (approx. 50 km).
