Have you ever spent your holidays in a real castle with a defensive tower? In Castello di Pratelli the time seems to have stopped. The former fortress is located in the country in the municipality of Incisa in Val D'Arno in the province of Florence. In the Middle Ages the castle experienced turbulent times and was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt.
In the meantime, no battles are being struck there. On the contrary, the ancient walls of the fortress and the many outbuildings today are canged to a family-run holiday resort where you can enjoy "peace and quiet ". The large sun terrace with pool (14 x 7 m) offers a view of a wonderful panorama. You look over the Arno Valley and on the mountain chain.
The owners of the castle, who live in the mansion, also cultivate wine and grains, from which a wonderful red and white drop arises. From the earnings of more than 2,000 olive trees a select oil "extravergine" with a fruity, refined and unmistakable flavor is won.
The location of this holiday resort is perfect to visit many of the most famous sights of Tuscany. Florence is about 27 km, Siena about 70 km, Greve in Chianti about 25 km and Arezzo about 50 km.
The nearest restaurant and the nearest shops are about 4 km away. From Incisa in Val d'Arno, you can easily go to Florence or Arezzo by train. There are a total of 15 apartments of different sizes, as well as two guest rooms spread over several buildings. The accommodation facilities are simple and rustic.

The final cleaning is included as long as the accommodation is left tidy and swept clean (otherwise € 50 will be charged extra). Bed linen and towels are included. Additional bed - where space allows - € 15 per day. Use of the washing machine € 5 per wash cycle (without detergent). There is no extra charge for dogs, but only small dogs are allowed. In the cool season, the heating costs (only if required) are charged extra. Firewood € 5 per box. Deposit between € 200 and € 400, depending on the apartment.
Note: Every Italian municipal administration can introduce a tourist tax. Because this additional levy can be introduced from one day to the next, and varies from place to place, Toscana Sì cannot give definite information about it.
The house is an ideal starting point to get to know the city of Florence and the Arno Valley / the romantic atmosphere is particularly appreciated by couples in love ;-).
The kitchens in some of the apartments are rather simple. The last section of the access road is narrow and quite steep.
