La Portaccia Castiglione della Pescaia (Grosseto)

Luca, his wife Claudia and his mother run this small guest house in Castiglione della Pescaia at the end of the central pedestrian zone called "Piazza".
In the spring of 2014 it was completely restored and the 3 triple and 7 twin rooms are now all bright and friendly furnished and each have a private bathroom.
In fine weather, guests can enjoy breakfast in the garden or on the covered terrace.
Small shops, coffee bars and restaurants in the center are within easy walking distance of the guest house. The harbor and the beach are about 10 minutes.
To the provincial capital Grosseto it is about 22 km, to Siena about 99 km, Florence about 165 km, Pisa about 137 km, Arezzo about 160 km.
Luca's real passion belongs to the horses. With a lot of passion, he leads the horse farm La Bandita, which is located at the exit of Castiglione della Pescaia. For horseback riders, he organizes excursions on horseback along the Bruna River, through pine forests and on the long sandy beach of Le Marze.

For beginners and children there is the possibility to take riding lessons on the practice ground. Even the little ones can make the first experiences with the lovely ponies.

The WWF bird sanctuary Diacca Botrona borders Castiglione and is definitely worth a visit. Here one can see flamingos, fish falcons and numerous other water birds in the multimedia museum, which is housed in the ancient lock house Casa Ximenes.
