Il Nido sul Mare Porto Santo Stefano (Grosseto)

The Monte Argentario peninsula in the south of Tuscany is known for the Porto Ercole marina and the Porto Santo Stefano ferry port, which connects the mainland with the two islands of Giglio and Giannutri.
This pretty, completely renovated apartment is located in a characteristic “Santo Stefano” palazzo, in the upper part of the city center of Porto Santo Stefano. The dominant position above the new harbor offers a clear view of the ancient fortress, symbol of the past Spanish rule, and the headland of La Giannella opposite.
There are some restaurants and coffee bars near the apartment. There are also grocery stores and a supermarket where you can get everything you need for a seaside holiday.
Every Saturday morning there is an interesting weekly market in the well-known lagoon town of Orbetello, which is definitely worth a visit. In addition to fresh fruit, vegetables and fish, leather goods, shoes, clothing, household goods and much more are also available for sale.
The Monte Argentario peninsula offers many excursion destinations and wonderful hiking trails along the rocky coast with hidden, small bathing bays. The nearest sandy beach is Spiaggia Cantoniera and is about 2 km from the house.
We definitely recommend a day trip to the offshore island of Giglio, which enchants visitors with its untouched nature, hidden beaches, the lively harbor town of Giglio Porto and the medieval town of Giglio Castello. The smaller island of Giannutri, which is also served from Porto Santo Stefano, also impresses with its two wonderful bathing bays and the ancient Roman villa, the remains of which can be visited accompanied by an authorized naturalist guide.
