This small private country house is located below the ancient village of Montemassi in the municipality of Roccastrada. Surrounded by meadows and forests, olive groves and vineyards, the pretty, completely renovated stone house nestles harmoniously in the Maremman hills. Fruit trees and holm oaks grow on the large property. Rose beds and flowering shrubs surround the house.
There are cozy corners with wooden benches or tree swings that invite you to linger under the old holm oaks or between the fragrant rose beds. The children will love this garden, which offers plenty of space to play and climb. There is a slide, two swings and various climbing devices attached to the trees.
The four-legged family members are also very welcome here and can move freely on the fenced property (fence height about 1.20 m).
The large living room with its open kitchen and fireplace corner is bright and friendly. All guests can eat together at the long wooden table.
Under the covered porch is another large dining table for guests to dine outside. A sofa corner with two armchairs and a large rocking chair make the terrace really cozy. From here you can enjoy the view of the vast nature. The house and porch have been stylishly furnished with great attention to detail.
The front of the house overlooks the dreamy village of Montemassi perched on the nearby hill. In the evening, when the lights go on in the streets and houses, it is reminiscent of a nativity scene.
For shopping you can drive to Ribolla (approx. 3 km), where there is a well-stocked supermarket. Montemassi is also only about 3 km away. The medieval town of Roccastrada (approx. 13 km) is definitely worth a visit. The provincial capital of Grosseto and the lively bathing resort of Follonica are each around 30 km away.
It is about 36 km to the sea in Castiglione della Pescaia and about 30 km to the sports harbor and beach of Puntone di Scarlino.
Level entrance from the garden. A spacious living room with open kitchen, fireplace corner and sofa bed for 2 children. In the living room there are 2 large, glazed double doors that lead to the covered veranda. At the back end of the living room there is a small hallway on the left, from which you can reach a bathroom with shower and toilet. At the end of the hall is a double bedroom where a wicker cradle can be placed for a baby if desired. The large glazed door leads directly into the garden and offers views of Montemassi. This sleeping area with private bathroom can be separated from the living room by a sliding door, creating a separate sleeping area. On the right side at the back of the living room there is a reading room with a comfortable sofa bed for 2 people. The large glaze door leads directly into the garden at the back of the house. A small hallway at the back of the room leads to the bathroom with bathtub and toilet. The reading room and the bathroom can be separated from the living room by a sliding door, so that the room becomes a second double bedroom with a private bathroom and a separate exit to the garden. The large veranda with dining table, comfortable sofa area and rocking chair invites you to linger and dine outdoors. In the large garden, near the entrance gate, there are two shaded parking spaces. The large private garden is fenced all around.

Final cleaning, bed linen and towels included. Baby cradle on request free of charge (with bed linen). Surcharge for dogs € 35 per week (for each additional dog € 15 per week). The costs for firewood and heating are charged extra. Deposit € 200.
Note: Every Italian municipal administration can introduce a tourist tax. Because this additional levy can be introduced from one day to the next, and varies from place to place, Toscana Sì cannot give definite information about it.
Very nice landlady. Very nice, tastefully designed ambience. By arrangement, more than one dog may be brought along. The fenced garden area is about 2000 square meters.
The last meters of the approach road are a bit bumpy and lead over 2 narrow bridges, which at first glance seem a bit adventurous, but are passable without any problems. Unfortunately there is no washing machine.

Nachdem wir wieder wohlbehalten mit sehr schönen Eindrücken aus "Le Pietre Focaie" zurückgekeht sind, noch ein update für Ihre Web-Site, das eingezäunte Grundstück ist doch tatsächlich 11.000 qm und nicht "nur" 2.000 qm groß. Unsere Hunde und auch wir waren von Haus und Garten begeistert, haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und sind nach jedem Ausflugstag mit einem sehr angenehmen Gefühl zu "unserem" Haus zurückgekommen.
