Signora Margherita and her husband Sergio have fulfilled the "dream of the house in the countryside" many years ago and have restored an old farmhouse in a beautiful panoramic position near the old mountain village of Scarlino.
The extensive property comprises about 20 hectares of land, with olive groves, cork oak forests and the typical Mediterranean "macchia" (mixed forest). Life in the midst of unspoiled nature and the associated effect of recreation for body and soul has awakened in them the desire to let other people participate in the peace and beauty of this place.
It was immediately clear to both of them to decide for the construction of modern energy-saving houses in a country-house style in order to welcome their holidaymakers.
That the negative impacts of nature conservation can only be stopped by a complete rethinking and by a radical change in our consumption behavior, all aspects of environmental friendliness and sustainability have been taken into account right down to the smallest detail during the planning phase.
The building commissioned one of the market-leading companies for ecological constructions. Three different buildings, each with two individually designed residential units, have been created. Each has a private furnished terrace. In the comfortable and tastefully furnished apartments, you can enjoy a pleasant room climate every season, so that the use of heating or cooling system can be kept to a minimum. It was taken with great care, That all materials used including the used wall paints are without pollutants. The hot water supply and the power supply are covered by a solar and photovoltaic installation.
The pool (18 x 5 m) was installed on the slope below the houses, so that you almost feel like flying. Golfers can indulge their passion on the two 18-hole courses in Gavvorano (about 12 km) and Punta Ala (about 27 km).
The nearest supermarket is in Bagno di Gavorrano (about 6.5 km), there are also restaurants and pizzerias. The sea to Puntone is about 12 km. To the famous Tuscan cities with its many art treasures you can take day trips: Florence about 150 km, Pisa about 125 km, Siena about 90 km.

Final cleaning, bed linen and towels are included. Interim cleaning on request € 30,- for the apartments with only one bathroom, € 50,- for the apartments with 2 or 3 bathrooms. Extra bed (if the space in the apartment permits) € 30,- per day, from 6th July to 31st August € 50,- per day. Children's cot and high chair (on request) € 10,- per day. Extra charge for pets € 30,- per week and per pet. Firewood can be provided free of charge if required. The use of the heating and / or air-conditioning system is not charged separately. Security deposit € 200,- per apartment.
Note: Any Italian municipal administration is free to introduce a so-called "tassa di soggiorno" (tourist tax). Since this additional, compulsory charge can be levied from one day to the next and varies from place to place in terms of altitude and duration, Toscana Sì can not provide any binding information.

The access road (about 3.7 km) is only well-paved at the beginning. After about 1.5 km it is still tarred, but then becomes narrower and more curvaceous. The last 900 m it becomes a gravel road, which is partly bumpy and can only be traveled slowly.
Liebe Frau Hens und liebe Frau Gramatke, herzlichen Dank für diese Empfehlung: Poggio la Croce ist ja wohl der schönste Platz, den man sich vorstellen kann. Wir sind sehr glücklich, Ihrer Empfehlung gefolgt zu sein. Auch genau das Appartement, das wir haben (sughera di sopra) ist einfach genial. Abgesehen von der Lage und der Aussicht sind die Besitzer unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend und die Ausstattung einfach perfekt. Luigi hat erzählt, um herauszufinden was in den Ferienwohnungen noch fehlen könnte, hätten sie dort quasi einen "Probeurlaub" gemacht. Und genau das merkt man! Nach langer Suche haben wir uns für die Ferienwohnung Cerro di Sotto in der Anlage Poggio la Croce bei Scarlino für unseren ersten Toscanaurlaub entschieden. Die Wohnung war ein Volltreffer. Wir wurden herzlich von Margaritha in Empfang genommen. Wir erhielten nützliche Tipps für unseren Urlaub und genossen die 10 Tage bei viel Sonnenschein. Kurze Wege zu mehreren Stränden und Sehenswürdigkeiten für Tagesausflüge ließen keine lange Weile aufkommen. Wir können unser Domizil wärmstens weiterempfehlen und kommen selber gerne wieder.
