This estate is located in the municipality Buonconvento in the district of Siena. It is idyllically situated on a hill and is surrounded by fields, meadows, olive groves and vineyards.
In the spacious garden, in which the owner and artist Mario Nardi has set up his curious sculptures of scrap metal, there is a beautiful pool (about 12 x 6 m) which was renewed in 2021.
In a two-story detached house opposite the pool is located the largest of the three apartments. On the ground floor of the large main house "Casa Padronale", in which we find the reception, also lives the owner family itself. Here two more apartments were furnished.
On the first floor there are the three nice, in Tuscan country style furnished guest rooms, as well as a large common room. Holidaymakers can make themselves comfortable in this room to read or play together at the long tables and around the large antique fireplace. Here, breakfast is served and after consultation with the guests, Tuscan dinners are offered from time to time, which take place under the gazebo in the communal garden, when the weather is nice.
For the preparation of the food, mostly home grown products are used. Mario's wife Serena cooks jams, bakes fresh bread and delicious cakes.
Chickens, ducks, the small pink-black pigs of the breed "Cinta Senese" are bred. Cats, dogs, donkeys and horses also belong to the farm.
The gravel road that passes near the complex is part of the route of the well-known classic bicycle race EROICA, which takes place every 1st Sunday in October and can only be used with bicycles made before 1987. These routes are very popular with cyclists in every season and the Agriturismo Quarantallina is the ideal starting point to explore the most beautiful areas of the Sienese hinterland in the footsteps of the heroic vintage cyclists.
Near the farm there is a riding stable with which the agriturismo works closely together. Excursions on horseback are organized here and riding lessons are also offered for beginners and children. Trekking excursions on foot or by mountain bike are also organized and connoisseurs of the holidays can take part in the wine tastings which take place directly in the agriturismo.
The farm Quarantallina is the ideal starting point to visit such famous places as Siena, Buonconvento, Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno, Monte Amiata or the Maremma coast (the latter can be reached in about 90 minutes by car).

Note: Every Italian municipal administration can introduce a tourist tax. Because this additional levy can be introduced from one day to the next, and varies from place to place, Toscana Sì cannot he give definite information about it.
