This spacious private holiday apartment is on the third floor of an apartment building in the pedestrianized center of the well-known seaside resort of Follonica. The beach is just a few steps from the house. The very nice landlord family originally comes from Switzerland and has lived on a farm in the neighboring community for many years.
The bright and modern furnished apartment offers a lot of comfort. From the narrow balcony you can enjoy a wonderful view of the offshore Elba island and the Gulf of Follonica. The sunsets are spectacular.
You don't need your car, you can walk to everything you need for a relaxing beach holiday: grocery stores, boutiques, various restaurants and pizzerias, beach bars, bakeries and pastry shops, pharmacies, banks and newsagents.
Some travel guides pay little attention to the town of Follonica or even describe it as “not recommended”. Of course there are vacation spots on the Tuscan coast such as Castiglione della Pescaia, Talamone or Porto Santo Stefano, which can boast a more appealing architecture.
But Follonica also has its beautiful sides: the people are friendly and from the beach the view over the vastness of the bay (Golfo di Follonica) is breathtaking. On some days the island of Elba seems close enough to touch. On the beach promenade you can admire beautiful Art Nouveau villas and the characteristic little beach houses right by the sea. Not only in the main season Follonica is a lively city, whose typical Italian liveliness also infects and carries away holidaymakers. One of the lovable aspects of this city is that you can still find some of the long-established, small shops in the narrow streets of the center.
The apartment is on the third floor, which can be reached by elevator. You enter the apartment from the staircase: a hall, a small storage room, a large kitchen with a dining table and an exit to the balcony. A living room with sofa bed for 2 people and exit to the balcony. The two rooms are separated by a sliding door. A double bedroom with an additional bed, a bedroom with 2 single beds, a bathroom with shower / toilet. The narrow balcony (on which there is space for a small table and chairs), which can also be reached from the small bedroom, runs over a corner and offers a wonderful sea view.

The wonderful view over the Gulf of Follonica and the offshore island of Elba make up the charm of this apartment. The ideal location, the beach and the lively pedestrian zone of Via Roma are in the immediate vicinity.
During the summer months, finding a parking space can be a bit time consuming. The next free parking spaces are about a 10-minute walk from the apartment, which is located in a restricted-traffic zone (ZTL - Zona di Traffico Limitato). The inner courtyard with the house entrance and the stairwell with the elevator have not been renovated and have the typical charm of an apartment building from the 70s.
