A color interpretation the famous David by Michelangelo Buonarroti in the Carrara quarries

The David of Cava Gioia is a huge mural depicting Michelangelo's David in a colorful version. The author is the internationally known Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra, who has been traveling around the world for years and painting the walls of cities with his colorful figures.
In June 2017, the artist came to Italy and took on the challenge of creating this extraordinary work with a very deep symbolic meaning. He painted the famous David by Michelangelo Buonarroti and interpreted it with his harlequin colors on one of the highest walls of the Gualtiero Corsi quarry, in the splendid setting of the Apuan Alps, between Massa and Carrara.
The mural was created in collaboration with the municipality of Massa as part of the Italian TV series “Muro” (Wall), directed by David Diavù Vecchiato and Level 33, created exclusively for Sky Arte HD.
The marble wall of the quarry where David was depicted can only be reached via two footpaths lasting approximately 50 minutes, which start in the municipalities of Bedizzano or Colonnata.
For this year's Toscana Sì ScontCard we were inspired by this unique work of art.
